The Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC) of the State Library of NSW has
participated in the creation of a thesaurus for legal terms. It is a two level list of subject
headings with particular emphasis on plain English legal information, and is used by the New South Wales
Attorney-General's Lawzone project. The WebLaw project has adopted this thesaurus, and will
enhance it using the strategy of stripping words and terms which appear frequently in the "Keywords"
field on the metadata repository, as well as suggestions made by WebLaw contributors. The LIAC Subject headings
